The view from the beans

My mom took this shot- you can really tell she used to be a professional photographer once upon a time.

The beans gave up another pound of goodness. I don’t know how much more the plants will produce but I’m down for it.

I remember when I was a child- I was such a picky eater, but I loved broccoli and green beans, and that alone probably saved me from malnutrition. Mom and dad never grew broccoli (once I was born anyways) but I fondly remember green beans and snap peas from the garden when I was a wee thing. The fact that now I can feed my parents green beans *I* grew makes me really happy.

Also sometimes my dad will open the veggie bin in the refrigerator and sort of loudly declare: “Green Beans!” Just for kicks I guess. I love it.
